What is meant by BHK, 2BHK, 3BHK etc.

BHK means bedroom, hall and kitchen. In the term BHK is prefixed with numbers and these numbers tell the number of bedrooms available in a property.The term is commonly used in real estate to denote the configuration of a property.  At the time of buying a property, buyers usually get confused with the configuration because by 2BHK, they understand that the property has 2 bedrooms, 2 halls and 2 kitchens which is not the case. 2BHK means 2 bedrooms, 1 hall and 1 kitchen Similarly  1BHK means 1 bedroom, 1 hall and 1 kitchen. 

But  if someone has 2.5BHK property, then it means 1 hall, 1 kitchen and 2.5 bedrooms state that a property has 2 bedrooms and a small room which can be used as a study room or Pooja room as per your convenience.
